custom: Ghetto remolding of classicthrone.
so i’ve been puzzling whit some old Finberg classic throne’s some days now. the plan is to make them SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT!!. so the remolded skate weighs ca. 1 kg. and at the moment i am working on molding som new custom soulplates to them too.. heres some pics of the project:
the custom skate are fitting so nicely!!! hope you’ll enjoy it ;) ROLL4LIFE. |
PS. hope to get some feedback on them! :P ROLL4LIFE. |
what did you / will you do to them?
omg ill pay you for customs. "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." |
psychotmpo: i did much of sandpapering and cutting whit hobby knife… i removed the metalrings where the laces are going thrue. but i am still making some small details on the boot. and for the soulplates im going too do a one piece soulsystem. hopefully lighter then the old soulplates :P ROLL4LIFE. |

Skater_For_Life: haha thanks mate. ROLL4LIFE. |

nobody got enything too say? ROLL4LIFE. |
Whats up with the hole in the back? Anyways, you’ve brought me a nice custom idea; I’m quite handy with fiberglass molding and I might try to make a boot suitable for razors plates with fiberglass. Although I don’t expect it to be as flexible as normal plastic.

FlareXII: its a cosmetic detail and for putting down weight… ROLL4LIFE. |
how much would that whole project run you with supplies and all? "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." |
im not sure? only the first skate is done, so i don’t know yet. why? :) ROLL4LIFE. |
that cuff mod – does it offer more flex?
Vcut cuffs; it is said they have more flex then their “higher” brothers.
yes they are way better now! ROLL4LIFE. |
I just want to know….. I mean id love to have that done to my skate. "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." |
heh okay :P maybe il make a post on how too do it.. ROLL4LIFE. |
please do. "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." |
i did this to mine recently with my friend stanley knife! and the main changes i made where removed a bit of the toecap like nihms for whatever i did it for "What you gonna do, kill me with your soupcup?" "Teacup actually" "What's that?" "I'll kill you with my teacup" |
How bout u just get some leg muscles?
Outkast: its just for the fun of it. i hope too become a designer one day an design skates, so nothing to do whit leg muscles. ROLL4LIFE. |
my shins are like 8 cm thick of muscle, so im fine in that department- when i was 7-11 i was mad on bmxing and so legs got very muscly for age. if just modding mide to make them a bit for personalised, and feel like a pair of skates made of feathers "What you gonna do, kill me with your soupcup?" "Teacup actually" "What's that?" "I'll kill you with my teacup" |

Frank, save up for a plunge router and a cheap small drill press and some pieces of umhw and make some sould for them. By the looks of my night souls thats hwo they make theirs. I made my Deshi souls faster by using a countersink drill bit and drilled out circles in the bottom of the plates which may have reduced friction.
